Hard Brexit

A film by Tom Costello

British ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson liked to call the Brexit referendum an “amazing moment for the country”, a rebellion of the “little people” against the faceless EU bureaucracy. But what if Brexit was ultimately not about the “will of the people” at all, but about the interests of a small British elite? This film shows the hidden side of Brexit, goes on the trail of the rich elite who pushed Hard Brexit at any cost, and uncovers the means they used to pursue this goal. British and EU politicians, investigative journalists and economist are among those who shed light on a network of secretive think tanks, seemingly grassroots movements and clever lobbyists who are pushing through their vision for the UK’s future.
