Hannah Leonie Prinzler


Hannah Leonie Prinzler was born in East Berlin in 1980. Between 2000 and 2007 she completed a degree in Media Arts and Design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany, and studied Timebased Arts and Photomedia at the College of Fine Arts of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. During this time she created several video installations, which have been exhibited internationally, i.e. at Viper Festival in Basel, Rencontres Internationales in Paris and Sónar Festival in Barcelona among other places. From 2006 to 2007 Hannah produced and directed her first feature-length documentary in co-production with the Film and TV Academy „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since then she has been working as a freelance writer, director and editor on documentary projects for different platforms. So far her films and video installations have been commissioned by public broadcasters like ZDF/arte and several museums and foundations.
